MOSCOW, Mar 22 (Prime-Tass) — Russian CDMA mobile operator Sky Link has launched sales of the first CDMA/GSM cell phone in Russia, the company said Thursday.
The Ubiquam-made U520 handset is available in Sky Link’s outlets in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Novosibirsk and Izhevsk and through several of the operator’s official dealers.
The handset can switch between CDMA-450 and GSM 900/1800 standards and has a recommended retail price of about US$600.
Sky Link has been selling South Korea’s Ubiquam products since 2004.
Sky Link, which operates in the CDMA-450 standard, had 440,000 users in 27 Russian regions as of December 31, 2006, including 194,000 users in Moscow.
